Design (Interior design)


The Interior Design bachelor’s program at Kimyo International University in Tashkent is designed to prepare modern, creative, and competitive professionals capable of designing functional, aesthetic, and ergonomic interior environments. The first student intake for the program took place in 2024. The program is offered in full-time format in Uzbek and Russian languages. The duration of study is 4 years (Bachelor’s degree). 
The primary goal of the program is to prepare a new generation of interior designers with advanced artistic thinking, professional technical skills, and the ability to create innovative interior solutions in accordance with international standards.
During the educational process, students study:

  •  interior design theory and history;
  •  composition and color theory;
  •  ergonomics and functional space planning;
  •  lighting design;
  •  modern materials and technologies;
  •  computer graphics, 3D modeling, and project visualization.

Students learn how to develop design concepts, create interior layouts, select materials and decorative elements, and produce modern design solutions tailored to client needs and global design trends.
The program combines creative approaches with technical knowledge, preparing students for professional careers in architecture, design, and construction industries.
Graduates may successfully work in design studios, architectural bureaus, construction companies, furniture manufacturing enterprises, or pursue independent design practice.
Goals and Objectives of the Program
The program aims to prepare creative, technically skilled, and innovative designers for the modern design industry.
During the program, students:

  •  study the theory, history, and modern trends of interior design;
  •  develop artistic thinking, composition, drawing, and painting skills;
  •  master ergonomic and aesthetic principles of interior spaces;
  •  gain proficiency in modern 3D modeling and visualization software;
  •  learn professional selection of construction and finishing materials;
  •  gain practical experience through real design projects;
  •  develop project management and client communication skills;
  •  strengthen competencies in creative and innovative design solutions. 

Curriculum Overview
The program is designed to prepare modern designers capable of professionally creating interior environments from both artistic-aesthetic and functional perspectives.
The educational process lasts 4 years and is organized based on 240 ECTS credits. The curriculum includes theoretical studies, practical classes, creative projects, and independent learning.
The curriculum covers the following main areas:

  •  general education subjects — history, philosophy, art history, and foreign languages;
  •  artistic and design foundations — drawing, painting, composition, and color theory;
  •  specialized subjects — interior design theory, ergonomics, lighting design, material technologies, landscape and decorative design;
  •  computer graphics and 3D modeling;
  •  practical training and real design projects;
  •  elective subjects and modern design technologies. 

Throughout the program, students acquire professional knowledge and practical skills in interior space planning, project visualization, material selection, and the development of modern design solutions.
At the final stage, students complete a graduation qualification project and pass the final state attestation.

Graduates of the Interior Design program may pursue successful careers across various sectors of design, architecture, and construction industries.

  •  furniture manufacturing and design companies;
  •  interior design for restaurants, cafés, boutiques, and shopping centers;
  •  decorative and visual styling industries;
  •  landscape and spatial harmony projects;
  •  advertising and exhibition design;
  •  independent freelance design practice. 

Graduates may also continue their studies at the master’s level and pursue academic or scientific careers.
