Online Scientific Talk with a Monash Professor
An online scientific talk was held via Zoom with the participation of Professor Akrom Xasanov from Monash University Malaysia.
During the session, special attention was given to improving the quality of research at the graduate level. The professor emphasized that impactful research today is not limited to theory, but should be closely connected to solving real-world problems. At leading universities, many studies are directly linked to practical challenges in fields such as industry, healthcare, and environmental sustainability.
An interesting fact highlighted was that research focused on real-life problems tends to receive more citations and delivers results faster. Common mistakes—such as poor data analysis, premature conclusions, or a narrow understanding of the problem—were also discussed as key factors that can reduce research quality.
The professor stressed that the ability to draw correct conclusions and learn from mistakes is essential for achieving meaningful scientific results.
For reference, Monash University is one of the world’s leading universities, ranked 36th in the QS World University Rankings 2026.
