CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: NAMED SCHOLARSHIPS
Kimyo International University in Tashkent announces a competition for named scholarships to support talented students who are actively engaged in research and demonstrate outstanding academic performance.
Applications are invited for the following scholarships:
· Scholarship named after the University's First Rector, Janpolat Kudaybergenov;
· Scholarship named after the economist and scholar Ahmad Ulmasov;
· Scholarship named after Academician Murod Sharifkhujayev.
Who Is Eligible to Apply?
Full-time students enrolled at the University's Tashkent, Namangan, and Samarkand campuses:
· Undergraduate students in their second year or above;
· Second-year master's students.
Main Eligibility Requirements
· A minimum GPA of 3.5;
· Excellent academic performance and involvement in research or creative activities;
· Participation in national and international academic conferences, with published research articles or conference abstracts;
· Proficiency in the state language and at least one foreign language;
· Achievements in national or international competitions and academic olympiads (if available).
Applicants holding IELTS 6.0, CEFR B1, Duolingo 85, TOEFL 58, TOPIK 2, TOMER, or certificates demonstrating higher levels of proficiency as specified in the Scholarship Regulations are exempt from the special foreign-language interview.
Additional requirements for master's students:
Applicants must have at least two research articles related to their master's thesis, a thesis abstract approved by their academic supervisor, and a high level of foreign-language proficiency.
Required Documents
1. Official documentation confirming the applicant's GPA;
2. Recommendations from the dean's office and academic department;
3. A recommendation letter from the research or creative project supervisor;
4. A list of research publications and printed copies of the works;
5. A copy of a foreign-language proficiency certificate (if available);
6. If no language certificate is available, an application to attend the special foreign-language interview;
7. Supporting documents confirming achievements in competitions and olympiads (if available).
All documents must be submitted in a separate folder clearly indicating the applicant's full name, academic programme, year of study, and group.
How Will the Competition Be Conducted?
Stage 1 — Document Review and Assessment of Academic Achievements
Applicants' GPA, research publications, foreign-language proficiency, and achievements in competitions will be assessed according to the established criteria.
Stage 2 — Special Written Tests
Shortlisted applicants will take tests in the History of Uzbekistan and Logical Reasoning.
Applicants who do not hold a foreign language proficiency certificate must take a special examination in one of the following languages of their choice: English, Korean, or Chinese.
The competition will be conducted using a 100-point assessment system.
Benefits for Scholarship Recipients
Recipients of the named scholarships will receive a special certificate approved by the University Rector, along with financial awards in accordance with the Scholarship Regulations.
