The GDCAU project aims to promote sustainable development and green transformation within higher education institutions in Central Asia. The project is focused on integrating the principles of the European Union Green Deal into educational curricula, university governance, scientific research, innovation, and university-business cooperation.
Main objectives of the GDCAU project:
The project envisions the implementation of training, exchange of experiences, development of new academic programs, pilot initiatives, and the preparation of policy recommendations for ministries and relevant stakeholders. In addition, Green Deal Centers will be established at partner universities.
Competence-based bachelor's and master's degree programs will be developed and introduced after analyzing existing curricula in both the European Union and partner countries.
For each partner university, it is planned to develop at least two new courses and to revise the curricula of nine existing subjects by integrating Green Deal-related content.
To adopt new teaching and learning methods, each partner university will send at least two faculty members to professional development training sessions organized by European universities. Moreover, based on the academic experience gained through the project, each university is expected to upgrade the Green Deal-related competencies of 10 to 20 staff members.
Furthermore, vocational training courses on Green Deal topics will be organized for 100 employees of partner industrial and business enterprises involved in the project.
