"Social and Humanitarian Sciences" department

The Department of Social and Humanitarian Sciences at Tashkent International University of Chemistry was established in 2018. Currently, the department employs 4 PhD holders, 1 senior lecturer, 1 part-time lecturer, and 1 hourly-based lecturer. At the undergraduate level, the department teaches the following courses across all majors: “Contemporary History of Uzbekistan,” “Philosophy (Religious Studies),” “Renaissance and Enlightenment History,” “Ancient History and Archaeology,” “Medieval History,” “History of Art and Religion,” “Introduction to History,” “History of Ideas and Movements,” “Political Science,” “History of the 18th–20th Centuries,” “American History,” “Modern History,” and “History of Religion.” At the master’s level, the department offers the course “Research Methodology.” These subjects are taught in Uzbek, Russian, and English. Throughout the academic year, in accordance with the department’s work plan, various cultural and educational events are regularly organized.

Main goals and directions of activity of the department:
The Department of "Social and Humanitarian Sciences" aims to ensure a high level of training of qualified personnel for ministries, departments, organizations, educational institutions working in all spheres, and other areas of activity in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the development of students' skills of independent research, the familiarity of students with the peculiarities of political processes at the present stage, as well as assistance to students in self-study and in the process of patriotic education of students.

• Training of highly qualified and competitive personnel who meet high moral and ethical requirements at the level of developed democracies;
• Systematic conduct and improvement of comparative analysis of state educational standards, curricula and programs in the directions and specialties of the department with educational programs of developed foreign countries;
• development and submission for confirmation in the established order of educational programs on disciplines of the department;
• preparation of materials, organized and visual manuals, reprinted textbooks, and educational and methodical literature, including the use of books in co-authorship with foreign scientists;
• implementation of rating control of students' knowledge, conduct of measures for organization of non-audit work for students;
• Take measures to select and educate gifted students, prepare them for participation in different competitions, in order to improve the forms and styles of independent work of students;
• organization of scientific and creative activity of students on a system basis, involvement of gifted students in research, training to carry out scientific and research works individually and collectively, and creation of necessary organizational, methodical, and material and technical conditions for the realization of their scientific and creative activity;
• carrying out research tasks in line with the agreed plan, discussing research tasks completed, recommending publication and implementation of research results in production, and guaranteeing successful integration of education, science, and production;
• development of educational cooperation with foreign educational institutions;
• Creation of circles on various topics, directions, and specialities, as well as occupation categories, with students' interests in mind, carrying out small company operations targeted at constructive and helpful employment of time-free students;
• Permanent control over the constant upgrading and updating of the Institute's information resource center of new educational, scientific and technological, and periodical literature in the Department's fields and specialities.
